AW10 Preview: Karen Millen

Karen Millen’s collection for AW10 still encapsulates the glamour that the brand usually upholds but the glitzy detailing has disappeared for the new season. 

The designers at Karen Millen have taken note of the new trends emerging off the catwalks and the major element coming through: ‘less is more.’

Gone are the shiny buttons, the diamante bling and the brass-wear edging, Karen Millen has now concentrated on fur trims, the cut of the clothing and the modernity of the print design.

Simplicity is key this AW10 with minimal accesorising and less fuss with the Karen Millen collection.

Similar to that of Topshop, messed-up hair and pale skin add an air of the English Rose to the look.  The collection is a stylish mix of evening dresses, figure hugging jeans and gorgeous cap coats.  An outdoorsy look, grunged up just a little, which is a new take for Karen Millen.

Black opaque tights are again, like many of the AW10 collections, seen throughout but our favourite piece – a fabulous investment piece – is the brown leather jacket with fur trim.  Beautiful looking and beautifully warm.
