Spiceal Street is celebrating its first Valentine’s Day and there are some delicious menus on offer especially for the event from Browns Bar & Brasserie and Chaophraya Thai Restaurant. Book your table early to avoid disappointment, for classic dishes and cocktails try Browns Bar & Brasserie (book online or call 0121 643 8708) or for fragrant exotic treats head to Chaophrayha Thai Restaurant (book online or call 0121 643 2424) with both restaurants now taking bookings for Valentine’s Day.

Jamie’s Italian will be taking bookings of two for Valentine’s Day dining, call the restaurant to secure your table on 0121 270 3610. If you are looking for something a little different we recommend sushi at Mount Fuji, you can call to reserve a table on 0121 633 9853. Whilst Pizza Hut invite diners to book online, the restaurant will call each reservation back to confirm their table.

If you enjoy food lovingly made by hand from the freshest,tasty ingredients then call handmade burger Co. on 0121 633 3696  to book a table for you and your loved one. Or if you’re feeling spontaneous and will be passing through Spiceal Street why not pop into Nando’s for spicy chicken or wagamama for yummy noodles?

There are a variety of ways to tantalise your taste buds and indulge your appetite this Valentine’s Day at Bullring, from heart shaped dough balls and red velvet desserts at Pizza Express to delicious cocktails at Browns Bar & Brasserie, there is something for every mood.

We love the White Peach Bellini on offer at Browns Bar & Brasserie which compliments their three course menu, specially created for the event, which offers diners three courses for £29.95 per person. Couples can enjoy starters including baked figs stuffed with feta & pine nutes and smoked duck parfait before feasting upon  a delicious rack of lamb or a delicate lobster tagliatelle. We recommend topping off your meal with a sweet and tasty dessert, our favourite is the classic Brown‘s Eton Mess.

If you feel like recreating Paris, the city of love, head to Café Rouge who have a sumptuous menu on offer that will set your taste buds alive with the scent of beautifully cooked dishes like bisque de homard (lobster bisque served with french bread) joues de bouef au vin rouge (beef cheeks braised in red wine served with herb mash and french beans) and the utterly indulgent fondant au chocolat – warm chocolate fondant with a soft chocolate centre served with vanilla ice cream. The restaurant’s set menu is based on 3 courses plus a glass of cremant  de bourgogne for £25 per person.

For those of you who enjoy something exotic, you’ll love the fragrant herbs and spices that add that little something extra to the dishes at Chaophraya Thai Restaurant. Chaophraya‘s Valentine’s menu offers 2 courses and 2 glasses of Prosecco for £40 per person and diners will enjoy spectacular dishes that will take you quite by surprise. We can’t wait to try their Thai tacos, smoked salmon tacos with aromatic  Thai herbs and wasabi mayonnaise sauce, their sea bass with chilli tamarind sauce looks exquisite and the spiced berry cheesecake with almond crumble is a gorgeous end to an incredible meal.

Jamie’s Italian will be serving up their ever popular selection of tasty specials and delicious cocktails and handmade burger Co. are worth a visit if you enjoy super fresh ingredients and yummy burgers. If you’d like to explore different flavours why not try a sharing platter at Nando’s or share some pizzas at Pizza Hut?

Everything kicked off at 6pm with Kerrang! Radio breakfast hosts, Loz and Keith, taking to St Martin’s Square to broadcast their show live to the nation for a Saturday night full of great music and eccentric guests. Throughout the evening the guys partook in some very funny challenges including Nando’s Roulette, which from the picture of Keith you can tell Loz won! And there was also a burger eating competition too.

As the ‘Caravan of Lost Souls’ pulled onto Spiceal Street at 6.30pm there was already a big crowd waiting to see what delights came with it.  There was the incredibly bendy lady, a brave, brave man who took on the bed of nails and the ‘Twisted Sisters’ to name a few.

All evening diners at the Spiceal Street restaurants (Browns Bar and Brasserie, Chaophraya Thai Restaurant, handmade burger Co., Jamie’s Italian, wagamama, Nando’s, Pizza Hut and Mount Fujji) were able to watch on from their tables as the performances took place whilst large crowds remained on St Martin’s Square all evening. 23rd January: After weeks of waiting last night the first performers from the Cirque du Spiceal, twisted urban circus, arrived at Bullring. Bobo, the evil clown, was joined by our resident ringmaster and a fellow stilt walker as they entertained diners on Spiceal Street.

The performers visited each of the restaurants to certainly spice up diners’ evening meals at the Spiceal Street restaurants to give them a taste of Saturday’s grand finale performance. They also proved a big hit with shoppers as they stopped to have their pictures taken with them.

Tuesday 24^th January: Last night saw the second evening of entertainment from our twisted circus, Cirque du Spiceal. This time the Ringmaster was joined by the formidable Yeti as well as his curious Killer Clowns down at Spiceal Street.

Diners were treated to a further taste of what’s in store from this series of dark events as the characters peered into each of the restaurants adding further excitement to the evening’s proceedings.

Wednesday 25^th January: When the Gentlemen Chimps arrived at Spiceal Street last night with Cirque du Spiceal’s Ringmaster, mayhem ensued as they set up a most unusual tea party.

Not content with their own table of fun and games, the Chimps visited the restaurants to say hello to diners, looking into the windows and offering party hats to people passing through Spiceal Street.

Thankfully the Ringmaster kept them in check but their antics were an entertaining and amusing teaser of what you can expect from the grand finale on Saturday night.

Tonight you’ll be treated to a performance from the famous King Kong.

Thursday 26^th January

Last night the colossal King Kong invaded Spiceal Street accompanied by two glamorous and incredibly unique stilt walkers, whilst Cirque du Spiceal’s Ringmaster on hand to keep him under control

Diners at Spiceal Street’s restaurants marvelled at the giant ape’s size as he paced next to the windows to make his presence known.

King Kong’s appearance at Spiceal Street marked yet another fantastic evening of entertainment from Cirque du Spiceal and gave visitors a glimpse of what to expect from the grand finale tomorrow night. Are you wondering what to expect next? Tonight sees fire breathers set the sky alight!

28th January: And that’s a wrap. It’s been a fantastic week at the centre with a host of weird and wonderful performances. On Monday we’ll be brining you all the news, pictures and videos so you can relive the event but for now here’s a sneaky peek…

The evening included a Spring/Summer 2012 trend presentation, a floor walk to browse the products, dinner at delicious Italian restaurant Rossopomodoro and free beauty treats followed by goodie bags for all, needless to say it was a fantastic evening!

The trend presentation took place in The Gallery Restaurant & Moet Bar and we were treated to a sneak peak at key trends like ‘Underwater Love’  (soft blues, seascape prints and floaty fabrics like chiffon) Film Blanche (50′s inspired with an all white colour palette) and Femme Fatale (Black, black and more black with a focus on tailoring.)

Mini Bags and Rucksacks are going to be huge, and we fell in love with this tiny box bag by Prada.

Key Trends on Menswear will include looks like ‘Olympic Influence’ (think sports inspired detailing and fabrics) ‘Globe Trotter’ (for this look our attention was drawn to Givenchy’s use of Birds of Paradise prints and we were also told that Professor Green is a big fan and often shops the trends at Selfridges). Rockabilly influences will be a big player and ‘Class Clown’ featured circus tent-esque red and white stripes on tailored trousers so you’ll see quite a quirky, eccentricity creeping in on menswear for Spring/Summer 2012.

We were given a close up look at gorgeous white products that are exclusive to Selfridges for Christmas and began to lust after this Alexander McQueen bag, beautifully finished in white leather with a golden skull clasp.

We also got to take a closer look at the beautiful new collection from Raoul. If you like clean lines, flowing fabrics and elegant minimalism with contrasts in fabric and texture that are subtle and intelligent, this is the brand for you.

We then enjoyed a walk of the floor where we explored accessories on Level 4, see below for some of the gorgeous finds we’ll be adding to our Christmas wish list!

One of the real highlights of our evening was being treated to a delicious meal at Rossopomodoro. Famous for their authentic Italian Pizza the restaurant did not disappoint!

Finally we each enjoyed a beauty treat, ours was a face mapping session from skincare brand Dermalogica. We loved the thorough and prescriptive advice we were given to tackle our problem areas and make the most of our good bits! To top all of this off, we each left with a fabulous goodie bag full of gorgeous treats to try at home and a mental note of some key pieces to pick up for next season.
