Q. Where is your favourite place to spend the summer?
A. I love to surf but I think it’s important to be flexible with your destinations. This year I may go to the mountains.

Q. What’s in your beach bag?
A. Invisible Zinc sunscreen from Australia, an iPod, surfboard wax, Hot Tuna board shorts and Wet Wipes.

Q. What’s your necessary extravagance?
A. I’m done with extravagance – efficient use of energy is my new thing.

Q. What or who is your favourite fashion discovery?
A. I don’t really follow fashion and prefer style – wearing things that suit me, with confidence. There is a new designer in London called Graeme Black whose use of textiles and cut is amazing, more like art.

Q. What do you most love about fashion?
A. I just love the fact that lingerie has truly become more fashionable these days, rather than simply a necessity.

Q. What excites you most about designing underwear?
A. I am excited by the thought of designing lingerie for every woman – no matter her shape, size or whatever the occasion.

Q. What’s your big lingerie-related tip for the new season?
A. I am loving my new Boudoir collection! And for every day – smooth and simple – my Double Skins II range, of course!

Q. What are you most proud of with your latest lingerie collections?
A. I am happy that my lingerie is more accessible and affordable.

Q. Who most inspires you?
A. Life inspires me.

Q. What summer soundtracks are on your iPod?
A. Lots of Bob Dylan, Eddie Vedder’s beautiful Into the Wild soundtrack. including the song ‘Guaranteed’, Leonard Cohen, Bossa Nova, The Rolling Stones, the Beatles, 1970s music for surfing… oh, and Amy Winehouse.

Q. What don’t you ever leave home without?
A. My keys, and my BlackBerry so the kids can always contact me.

Q. Who are your three favourite designers?
A. Vivienne Westwood for fashion, Ralph Lauren for consistent branding, and Donna Karan for her on-going commitment to women and change.

Q. What will you be buying this summer?
A. A pair of hiking boots.

Q. What fashion item can’t you live without?
A. I can live without fashion – but not without comfortable underwear!

Q. What are your three favourite products from your newly launched beauty range?
A. It’s called The Body by Elle Macpherson. I like the Nourishing Honey Butter, which moisturises the skin. The Fruit and Honey exfoliator leaves my skin polished and smooth, while the Daily Toning Lotion improves firmness and tone.

Q. Have you ever had a terrible fashion moment?
A. I’ve tried to dress like someone I’m not – it never works!

Q. And what has been your best?
A. I don’t judge myself on my fashion moments!

Q. What’s your definition of pure indulgence?
A. Pure indulgence for me is being with my kids in the city, when none of us have any work or school commitments.
