We catch up with Gok Wan
When we revealed that our favourite fashionista, Gok Wan, would be back at Bullring filming scenes for his show, Gok’s Roadshow, the response for Gok’s Brummie fans was incredible! Editor, Emma, managed to catch up with Gok between filming scenes for the programme to find out exactly what we could expect from the Fashion Face Off catwalk, his favourite thing about the city and most importantly, what he thought about the city’s style…
Midlands boy Gok said that he “loves coming to Birmingham and feels more at home” when he’s here and feels that everybody is really kind. He refered back to the last time he was filming at Bullring when over 11,000 people turned up to watch the How to Look Good Naked catwalk shows, that were filmed in the centre’s mall.
“Expect to see a very happy Gok if I win the Fashion Face Off!” he laughed, but there could be tears should he be pipped at the post! He told us to expect a “celebration of fashion regardless of budget as the show puts Birmingham on the fashion map.”

Gok had been filming in and around the city for a few days when we met him so that didn’t leave very much time for shopping… does it? “May already have!” he answered. And finally, it’s the biggie. What exactly does Gok think about our style here in Birmingham? “You guys really invest in your outfits and you’re so adventurous and creative with your style. When I came to film the first series of Fashion Fix in the city everybody turned up looking fantastic. There’s definitely a Birmingham stamp.”
